Provenance. Variante de Cindy. Diminutif d'Adalsinde. Vient du germain "sind", signifie "chemin" Se fête le 25 décembre.
Histoire. Fille de Saint Adalbaud et de Sainte Rictrude, Adalsinde ne fait rien de particulier, sinon de chercher Dieu dans le silence, la prière et la pratique de l'Evangile, dans le monastère fondé par sa mère à Marchiennes, près de Douai où elle meurt jeune, vers 680.
Caractère. D'un abord un peu fier, ce sont des femmes plutôt réservées qui doivent combattre une certaine timidité. Très féminines, leur forte sensibilité les rend parfois instables.Travailleuses, courageuses, elles ont une volonté sans faille. Exigeantes, intransigeantes, elles n'acceptent pas la médiocrité. Elles ont de l'humour et leur gentillesse est reconnue.
