Provenance. Prénon dérivé de Barbe. Vient du grec "barbaros" Signifie : "étranger, barbare" Se fête le 4 décembre.
Histoire. Apprenant que sa fille, Barbe, est devenue chrétienne, son père, un païen forcené, la fait juger. Le juge ordonne qu'elle soit suppliciée. Refusant d'apostasier, elle est déchirée par des griffes de fer, puis on lui arrache les seins. Son propre père lui donne le coup de grâce en la décapitant. Ceci se passait à Antioche, vers les années 300.
Caractère. Plutôt gaies, mais de caractère difficile, elles sont volontiers boudeuses. Ce sont des femmes "entières". Franches, n'acceptant pas le mensonge, elles sont aussi rêveuses et font beaucoup de projets. Il faut que ça bouge. Coquettes, exigeantes et possessives, ces petites "femmes-enfants" font craquer et arrivent toujours à leur fins.
