Jasmine
Provenance. Prénom dérivé de jasmin. Vient du persan "yâsimîn" Arbuste à fleurs jaunes. Se fête le 5 octobre.
Histoire. Comme tous les prénoms fleurs, les "Jasmine" ont pour patronne sainte Fleur qui fut l'une des premières religieuses, vers 1300, à sortir de son monastère pour le service des malades. Née en Auvergne, elle exerce ses talents à l'hospice de Beaulieu, près de Rocamadour. Elle connut des extases mystiques et de nombreux miracles lui sont attribués. Elle meurt saintement en 1347.
Caractère. Discrètes, s'extériorisant peu, ce sont néanmoins des femmes efficaces et actives. Mieux vaut ne pas les contrarier, car elles ont tendance à se replier sur elles-mêmes. Intéressées, elles attachent beaucoup d'importance à la réussite professionnelle et à l'argent. Volontaires, ambitieuses, rigoureuses, elles savent ce qu'elles veulent. Elles n'ont que peu d'amis, donnant leur confiance difficilement.
