Provenance. Diminutif anglo-saxon de Gilles. Vient du grec "aegidios" Signifie : "égide, bouclier", (Se mettre sous l'égide de) Se fête le 1er septembre.
Histoire. La petite ville de Saint Gilles-du-Gard était autrefois un port de mer, mais surtout un lieu de pélerinage et une étape sur le chemin de Saint Jacques de Compostelle. On y vénère saint Egide (ou Gilles) qui y vécut vraisemblablement vers le VIème siècle et dont on ne sait rien. Au cours des siècles, la légende en a fait l'un des saints les plus populaires du Moyen Age.
Caractère. On les croit superficielles, elles sont en réalité sérieuses. On les prend pour des dilettantes, elles sont d'une conscience professionnelle exemplaire. Elles sont volontaires, déterminées, travailleuses. Extraverties, elles ont besoin de s'exprimer sur tout. Très sociables, indépendantes, elles sont critiques et n'aiment pas se faire commander. Le charme masculin les attire toujours.
