Provenance. Diminutif de Josse. Vient du germain "gauz", nom d'une divinité. Se fête le 13 décembre.
Histoire. De noblesse bretonne et frère du roi Judicaël, Josse fuit la cour et son pays pour se retirer dans la solitude vers 635. Il mène ainsi une vie d'ermite en Picardie. Sa vie est toute consacrée à la prière et à la méditation. Il meurt saintement le 13 décembre 669 à Josse-sur-mer, dans le Pas-de-Calais
Caractère. Coléreux, autoritaires, leur compagnie est parfois difficile. Volontaires, d'un esprit "gagneur", ils se croient en perpétuelle compétition. Ils s'expriment avec aisance et parlent beaucoup. La franchise est leur qualité principale, même si cela doit blesser. Gourmands, sensuels, ils ne renoncent jamais aux plaisirs de la vie. Ils ont une confiance en eux insolente et vous prouveront toujours qu'ils ont raison.
