Provenance. Prénom dérivié d'Amaury. Vient du latin "maurus" Signifie : "d'origine maure" Se fête le 15 janvier
Histoire. Saint Maur, dont Amaury est dérivé, est issu d'une illustre famille romaine. Né en 512, son éducation est confiée à Benoît (futur St Benoît). Fidèle disciple de son maître, Maur fonde avec ce dernier l'ordre des moines bénédictins. Plus tard, Saint Maur vient en Gaulle et met en place de nombreuses abbayes. Il meurt le 15 janvier 584.
Caractère. Ce sont des êtres exigeants, autoritaires, qui aiment imposer leurs vues. Posés, équilibrés, rassurants, ils sont ambitieux, volontaires et vont jusqu'au bout de ce qu'ils entreprennent. Intelligents, d'esprit critique, souvent brillants, ils privilégient la réussite professionnelle avant toute chose. Vifs, rapides, ils manquent souvent de patience.
