Provenance. Variante féminine et dérivé de Matthieu. Vient de l'hébreu "matithi et yâh" Signifie : "don de Dieu" Se fête le 21 septembre.
Histoire. Saint Matthieu était l'un des douze apôtres. Avant de suivre Jésus, il était percepteur. Ce métier avait très mauvaise réputation et on n'apprécia pas que le Christ s'intéressât à lui. A la demande de Jésus, il laissa tout sur le champ et Le suivit. On doit à Matthieu le premier Evangile, écrit vers les années 60. Après la Pentecôte, Matthieu partit porter la bonne parole en Ethiopie où il mourut martyrisé.
Caractère. D'une volonté de fer, aucun déboire ne peut les abattre. Elles transforment leurs échecs en réussites. Plutôt gaies, elles ont l'optimisme communicatif. Elles s'épanouissent en réalisant leurs passions, peu intéressées par les valeurs matérielles. Têtues, il est inutile de vouloir les influencer. Sensibles, intuitives, lucides, elles jugent les gens d'un premier coup d'oeil. Elles sont affectueuses, tendres, sensuelles et passionnées.
