Provenance. Vient du breton "mao et tan" Signifie: "jeune homme et feu" Se fête le 14 septembre.
Histoire. On ne sait rien sur ce saint breton, sinon qu'une chapelle lui était dédiée à Plouigneau, dans le fisnistère. Il a donné son nom aux paroisses se St Maudan, dans les côtes d' Armor, de St Maudan en Crépin dans le Morbihan, Brémaudan dans l'Ille et Villaine, Trémaudan dans les côtes d'Armor.
Caractère. De nature volontaire, ce sont des hommes actifs et hardis, amoureux du risque. Bons vivants, pleins d'humour, amusants, leur compagnie est bien agréable. Voyageurs, aventuriers, ils sont passionnés et curieux. Ce sont des hommes de terrain qui ont le sens des affaires et du commerce.
