Provenance. Vient du germain "rad et wulf" Signifie : "conseil et loup" Se fête le 7 juillet.
Histoire. Saint Raoul, appelé aussi Ralph, vivait en Angleterre vers la fin du XVIème siècle. Il ne restait plus dans ce pays que cent mille catholiques, la reine Elisabeth 1ère ayant décidé de les exterminer. Catholique convaincu, Raoul fut arrêté et refusa d'aller prier dans l'église anglicane comme l'exigeait le juge pour lui accorder sa grâce. Il fut donc pendu le 7 juillet 1591 à Winchester.
Caractère. Plutôt introvertis, ils attachent beaucoup d'importance à leur vie intérieure et spirituelle. Discrets, peu expansifs, ce sont des solitaires. Travailleurs, volontaires, opiniâtres, ils vont jusqu'au bout de leur entreprise. En amour, ils sont possessifs, voire jaloux. Bons et généreux, leur morale est stricte. Ils ont peu d'amis, mais les choisissent avec soin et leur fidélité est inébranlable.
