Provenance. Vient du germain "sig et frido" Signifie : "victoire et paix" Se fête le 22 août.
Histoire. Siegfreid, simple diacre et malade, est un grand connaisseur de la Bible. Pour cette dernière raison, il est nommé prieur du monastère de Saint Pierre de Wearmouth, en Angleterre, l'année 687, par saint Benoît Biscop, son fondateur. Sa douceur et sa gentillesse sont légendaires. Poitrinaire, il meurt en 690.
Caractère. D'une franchise absolue, allant jusqu'à l'indélicatesse, ils sont généralement têtus, obstinés et courageux. Ils travaillent plus par raison que par enthousiasme, mais sont très perspicaces. Ils ont parfois tendance à négliger leur entourage pour ne s'intéresser qu'à leurs affaires. D'une morale scrupuleuse, ils sont tolérants. Bons vivants, bavards, ce sont des hommes fidèles.
