Provenance. Prénom d'origine bretonne. étymologie indéterminée. Se fête le 21 juillet.
Histoire. Fille de Gwerreg, comte de Vannes, Trifine est la cinquième épouse de Conomor, le cruel roi de Domnomée, au VIème siècle. bien qu'enceinte, elle est assassinée, à son tour, par ce mari que l'on surnomme le Barbe-bleu de Carhaix. Mais saint Gildas intervient et la sauve. Le fils qu'elle met au monde est Tremeur qui aura, lui aussi, à subir la cruauté de son père. C'est la patronne de Sainte Triphine, dans les côtes d'armor.
Caractère. Ce sont des êtres passionnés, de fort caractère, à la détermination inébranlable. Sûres d'elles, elles font essentiellement confiance à leur intuition. Leur vie est soumise à des principes moraux, ce qui ne les empêchent pas d'être tolérantes, aimables et gaies. Les échecs ne les affectent pas, car ce sont des tempéraments foncièrement optimistes. Elles connaissent leurs qualités et savent s'en prévaloi, ce qui agace leur entourage.
