Provenance. Prénom d'origine celte. Vient de "mael et wine" Signifie : "rencontre et ami" Se fête le 6 février.
Histoire. Les "Melvin" ont pour patron saint Mel qui fut disciple de saint Patrick, en Irlande, au Vème siècle. Il prit l'habit religieux dans le monastère fondé par Patrick et lui succèda à l'évéché en 461.
Caractère. Ce sont généralement des caractères forts. Assez flegmatiques, patients, obstinés, ils vont jusqu'au bout de leur entreprise. Intelligents, objectifs, leur jugement est sûr. Possessifs, voire égoïstes, ils ont le sens de la propriété. Ils sont discrets et ne cherchent pas à briller futilement. Ce sont des êtres vrais, solides, qui vivent avec des principes moraux qu'ils respectent scrupuleusement.
